As you may have heard, DDC will soon start hosting contests that you can enter to win some pretty intense prizes; you can win bits, items, Digimon data or fanmon!
To enter a contest, you must first read the rules set by the contest head (which will be, in most cases, me) and complete whatever task is required. To submit your answer, send the contest head a PM with your answers with the contest name as the subject. Any answers posted in the contest thread itself will not count!
There are several kinds of contests as well, as listed below.
TRIVIA
You will be asked at least three questions. Answer all correctly to win. The common prize for this is bits.
WHO AM I?
The contest head will describe a specific Digimon, and you have to figure out which one it is. If you aren't 100% correct, it won't count! The common prize for this is bits or even the Digimon in question.
CONTINUITY
You will be shown a series of images, and you have to pick out which one doesn't match.
ART CONTESTS
The contest head provides a topic, and you recreate it in your own style. These can be either drawing or spriting contests. The common prize for these are items.
CONTEST BATTLES
Complete a battle under specific conditions. Once the rules have been posted, you will create a battle topic (like normal) in the specific region (Steamy Jungle, Old Mine, etc.) entitled "(NAME) Contest Battle". You will then receive your opponent. Sometimes, additional rules will be placed, and you may even have your Digimon chosen for you. These are similar to Missions.
SCAVENGER HUNT
Somewhere on this site, something (as chosen by the contest head) will be hidden, and you have to find it! Simple enough, eh?
ADVANCED MISSIONS
These work similar to contest battles, but possess a unique quality; as the name implies, these are variations of missions with an increased difficultly. And with increased difficulty comes bigger prizes! These can add more/stronger enemies, time limits, weaker allies, reduced HP, incurable status effects, and so on.
Have a suggestion for another kind? Let us know, we might decide to use it. BUT, keep in mind; only DDC staff can make official contests.
(Sept 14/'10): Remember, only official members can enter: if you haven't posted your app yet, you can't participate![/u]
(Sept 19/'10): Please note that you can submit answers more than once. BUT, before you can, you need to have received a response from the contest head.
(Sept 20/'10): If a contest finishes with no winners, the prize will be added to that of the next contest.
